Tyne Folk

Di Henderson

What a voice, what a singer, what a night! A frequent visitor to tynefolk, Di Henderson's Guest spot was eagerly awaited. After her triumph at One Night in Gateshead, at the Sage, Di gave us a collection of songs and tales which lived up to her reputation and our expectations.

Songs from Tyneside, songs from Durham and from the Borders. Plus songs from Australia demonstrating the plight of the women left behind during wartime.

All delivered with the rich, powerful tones and feeling for which she is noted.

Di opened with Rap at the Bank, followed by What You Do with What You've Got, Marching, Generations of Change among many others.

But one song in particular stood out from the rest. Tommy Sands' There were Roses. Beautifully performed. It meant a lot and it showed.

Thanks Di...Great night.
