Although one of the regulars at tynefolk, singers nights alone does not allow enough time to appreciate the vast repertoire of Jim.
So I was delighted when Jim agreed to expose this wealth of material and guest at tynefolk.
Although he is best known for sea shanties and maritime material, he can easily by overlooked in club organisers minds for the other great and varied songs he performs (not just sings) but 'Performs'! covering traditional song, more recent contemporary version, a wealth of 'Geordie' dialect song and wonderful music hall and blues material.
A great singer who has supported both maritime and folk song since the 1960's.
