Tyne Folk

Terry Conway RIP

Terry Conway

On the 8th of June at 9:20pm, in Hexham General Hospital, Terry Conway, a good friend to the tynefolk club, passed away quietly and serenely as the sun touched the horizon over the Tyne Valley.

A remarkable man; an accomplished singer, musician and songwriter whose talents have been appreciated far and wide for decades. His knowledge of plants, history and astronomy were second only to his authority on border ballads and the histories therein.

He died of cancer generated by asbestos poisoning but he was made very comfortable by the fantastic and compassionate staff at Hexham General.

Our thoughts go to his wife Liz and family.
