The Welly at tynefolk, 2011

Welly Swap - Tynefolk

Thursday, 11th August saw the 13th yearly visit of the 'Welly' folk club to tynefolk.

On the night we discussed the longevity of the swap and weren't quite sure, but I can confirm that the first one took place at the Half Moon in Ryton Village in August 1998.

This one was again well attended with a bus arriving from Teesside and quite a few visitors calling in.

Dick Miles popped in along with George Welch, Doreen and Brian Henderson showed support from the Birtley Club. Ed Lawrence was up from The Grove in Leeds and from Dublin came Tim Quan to help boost the singers who, by the end of the night totaled about 45.

The singing was astounding, loud and almost continuous all night long and some great songs were aired by everyone.

I would like to thank everyone who turned up and hope you can all make it to the next (return visit) at the 'Welly' in Wolviston on 1st December 2011.
